Affordable Beach Weddings: Tips for a Dream Day on the Sand
Last month, many people were upset when it was suggested that fees for beach weddings should go up by almost 100%. The prices were set to go from $500 to a huge $900 for a simple service. For many couples, that would have made a beach wedding impossible.
In our area, beach weddings have always been very popular because the sand, sun, and waves make for a beautiful natural setting. In the past few years, I’ve planned more than 200 beach weddings for other people. The beach is a great place for any kind of event, from small get-togethers with 30 people to big parties with 300 people.
As a professional wedding planner, I’ve learned a lot about how to make these events run smoothly. There are some practical problems, like getting the decorations across sand and keeping the mess to a minimum. I have come up with good plans to make sure that the weddings I plan go perfectly. My clients always tell me how beautiful their beach weddings were.
So, when the plan to raise fees was made public, I was very worried. I thought that many people would no longer be able to host beach parties. Because of the price, this dream wedding spot shouldn’t have been out of the question.
It’s good to know that the government heard what wedding sellers like me had to say. I gave them information about how the higher fees would hurt my customers and my business. A lot of other sellers and engaged couples also spoke up.
This lobbying from the bottom up worked! The new rules leave the fees for beach weddings the same as they were before. Some extra rules have been added, like getting liability protection for events with more than 100 people. On the whole, though, beach weddings will still be reasonable.
Tips for Affordable Beach Weddings
I know how to keep beach wedding costs low because I’m a professional wedding planner:
- Select a date that isn’t very busy—weekends in the summer cost the most. It costs less to get married in the spring or fall.
- Don’t invite too many people, since fees are often based on that. It costs less for a smaller event.
- Do not build any buildings; chairs and arches cost extra. Soak up the natural beauty by keeping the decorations simple.
- Visit public beaches instead of private resorts because they are cheaper.
- Make sure no trash is left behind. This will save money on cleanup costs.
- Hire a local caterer—if you hire from restaurants close by, you won’t have to pay for journey costs.
- DIY the flowers: You can save money on florist fees by making your own bouquets and designs.
- Find a new photographer. Instead of hiring a top pro, hire a skilled up-and-comer and save money.
- Now that I have good news, I can tell couples who have been thinking of a beach wedding! One of my clients, Priya and Rohan, just set up a wedding for February of next year. Since the price increase was rolled back, they can still afford this place.
When I asked Priya about the new fees, she said, “We were ready to give up on having our wedding on the beach.” We’re so happy that idea didn’t work out! Having the ocean in the background will make our wedding feel completely magical. What a great place for us to meet!”
Fairytail Event Experience
Next year, I can’t wait to make Priya and Rohan’s dream beach wedding come true. And I’m glad that beach weddings will still be possible for couples of all income levels.
As someone who has planned many weddings, I can say that beach weddings can make any event feel like a fairy tale. The sights, sounds, and scenery make for a beautiful setting that you will never forget. What made me fight so hard against this policy change?
I love planning dream weddings. It means so much to be able to keep holding beautiful beach weddings. It’s great that so many sellers and engaged couples spoke out about this. In this case, working together makes a difference.
This big policy win should be celebrated, maybe with a drink on the beach at sunset. I’m glad that our government changed its mind. In this place, beach weddings are a very important custom. By keeping the prices low, more couples will be able to have their dream island wedding.
This is great news for love, beauty, and making memories that last a lifetime. I’m so happy that beachfront events will still be possible because I’m a wedding planner. In the coming years, I can’t wait to help many more couples plan their one-of-a-kind island beach weddings. I hope you like reading “Big News for Beach Weddings- Government Reverses Hike on Fees”.
